About and my message

My name is Sue Park. As a queer person who has been overly sexualized and fetishized by numerous individuals in the past, specifically friends who constantly forced binary gender norms on me and criticized me for being more fluid and expressing myself in ways that did not seem “feminine enough,” I think it is extremely important for me to spread awareness about the societal toxicity that caters to binary gender norms. This toxicity can poison peer groups across communities around the world and negatively influence youth to display aggressive and controlling behaviors toward other young individuals in school settings because they do not perceive them as “normal.”
